How Does a Rainwater System Work?

All The Details

Water Collection Calculation

Easy Formula to Remember: 1" of Rain on 1,000 sf Roof will Yield 623 Gallons. (see calculator below)

Catchment Surface

Metal is the best for potable systems, but you can collect water from any type of roof with the right type of pre and post filtration.

Wet vs. Dry Systems

Wet systems have pipes underground and utilize "head pressure" to push water from the structure to the tank. In a Dry System, the tank is right next to the structure and all pipe is above the tank.

Pre-tank Filtration

This consists of a series of "screens" installed strategically according to the end use of the water.

Tank Storage

There are all different types of tanks out there. We utilize metal tanks or poly tanks.

Post-tank Filtration

From sediment filters to Carbon filters to UV lights, this set-up is determined by the end use of the water.
